From Tuesday 14 October 2025, Royal Primary Care will be using Anima for all triaging, appointments and admin requests.
This exciting change is designed to improve ease of access, continuity of care and how we prioritise those who need our help the most.
Anima is a secure online system that helps us manage appointment requests and admin queries more efficiently. There’s no need to create an account – patients can simply enter their key personal information before submitting a request.
All requests – whether made online, by phone, or in person – will be submitted through Anima and then reviewed by a dedicated triage team led by experienced clinicians, meaning your needs will be assessed by the right people and you will get the most appropriate care for your needs.
“We’re really excited for this next step and we’ve already heard from numerous other GP providers about the difference Anima has made to patient and staff experience,” said Nathaniel Webber, Managing Director at Royal Primary Care.
“We know that getting an appointment can sometimes be frustrating, especially if you have to wait on the phone during working hours or wait for a call-back. Coupled with our new phone system which launched in January, we feel that Anima is going to offer a significant improvement to patient experience, namely the ease of requesting care and eventually a much shorter wait on the phone and in our surgery queues.”
“We’re working closely with Anima to make sure everything is ready for the launch on 14 October. Colleagues will be readily trained and available to support patients in the initial weeks of launching Anima.”
Dr Jennie Joyce, RPC’s Clinical Director, said: “Our current appointments system has struggled to keep up with growing demand, and it hasn’t always allowed us to prioritise patients who need care most urgently.
“With Anima, we will be able to make better decisions for each patient and provide better continuity of care for those who need it. We’re very excited about how this will benefit our patients going forward.”
What do I need to do before Anima arrives?
In preparation for the new system to go live, please check that the contact details you have provided us (your phone number, email address, home address, postcode etc.) are up-to-date before Tuesday 14 October. This will ensure that there are no issues linking your existing patient record to Anima when you submit an online request.
From 14 October, patients will be able to submit medical and admin requests to Royal Primary Care on the Anima website, open 7am to 6.30pm from Monday to Friday.
Patients who need help submitting a request can call or visit our surgery reception desks as normal, open 8am to 6.30pm from Monday to Friday.
In the first few days of going live, extra support will be available in our surgery receptions and waiting areas to guide patients through the new system and answer any questions.
